Position Information

Seven Hills North Public School is a small, historic school with a proud legacy dating back to 1883 and was rebuilt in 2003. Affectionately known as a "country school in the middle of the city," the school is distinguished by its welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere, spacious natural playgrounds, and strong sense of community. This unique environment is fostered through collaborative partnerships between students, staff, and families.

With a current enrolment of 246 students, Seven Hills North celebrates its rich cultural diversity. Approximately 49% of students come from a non-English speaking background, and 7% identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The school values the identity, heritage, and language of all students and is committed to inclusive, high-quality educational and cultural programs supported by strong community connections.

The school is an active member of the Bungarribee Principal's Network and works closely with the Blacktown Learning Community of Schools and the Nurringingy Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG). Students proudly participate in the Junior AECG, reflecting the school's deep commitment to Aboriginal education and student voice.

Seven Hills North Public School is dedicated to providing high-quality teaching and learning programs with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy improvement. General Selection Criteria

• Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
• Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
• Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
• Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
  
  

Specific Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a proven capacity to balance exemplary classroom practice with school leadership responsibilities, including leading initiatives, mentoring colleagues, and driving strategic improvement.

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and build the capacity of teachers to implement evidence-based, explicit teaching practices and innovative pedagogy that improve educational outcomes for all students.

Proven capacity to identify, differentiate for, and extend high potential and gifted students (HPGE), including the ability to lead school-wide strategies that nurture talent and promote academic challenge, engagement, and wellbeing for advanced learners.

Demonstrated expertise in leading and sustaining a dynamic, inclusive, whole-school approach to student wellbeing that empowers every student to thrive, grow, and develop a strong sense of belonging and connection.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
