Transgrid is building its Control Centre capability to strengthen the resilience of Australia's high-voltage transmission network.
This role supports the System Resilience team and delivers operational technology solutions to the control centre beyond 2031.
From 2026, the position transitions into a product leadership role, managing a small team that delivers value directly to control room operators.Reporting to the Future Control Centre Manager, this role brings real-world control centre experience into projects, ensuring operational requirements are embedded in technical solutions.What You'll DoLead and support initiatives including a major SCADA/EMS upgradeTranslate operational needs into robust technical requirementsConduct user acceptance testing, defect resolution and validation of solutionsCollaborate with technical and operational teams to optimise system designIdentify and deliver quick wins to improve control room operations by 2026Act as delegate for the Future Control Centre Manager when requiredDrive continuous improvement, cultural change and customer-focused outcomesWhat You'll BringProven experience in control centre operations (energy or utilities sector preferred)Strong knowledge of operational technology systems in real-time environmentsUnderstanding of HV transmission networks, control, protection and communication systemsExperience in user acceptance testing, SCADA systems, and fault findingDemonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, IT, and project teamsLeadership or coordination experience, with the ability to guide small teamsResilience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills in dynamic environmentsWhy this role?
