System Operations Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned System Operations Specialist to lead initiatives and collaborate with technical teams to optimise system design. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in control centre operations, strong knowledge of operational technology systems, and understanding of HV transmission networks.

  • Lead and support initiatives including major SCADA/EMS upgrades
  • Translate operational needs into robust technical requirements
  • Conduct user acceptance testing, defect resolution, and validation of solutions
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to improve system design
  • Identify and deliver quick wins to enhance control room operations
  • Act as delegate for the Future Control Centre Manager when required
  • Drive continuous improvement and cultural change

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating operational needs into technical requirements, conducting user acceptance testing, and collaborating with technical and operational teams to optimise system design. This is a unique opportunity to bring real-time operational systems expertise into the design of our control centre.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require proven experience in control centre operations, strong knowledge of operational technology systems in real-time environments, and understanding of HV transmission networks, control, protection, and communication systems. You will also need to be able to drive continuous improvement and cultural change.
