About the role

The Role

The Manager NDIS Home and Living will bring an innovative approach to resourcing the supports for people with disability while ensuring all supports and services are aligned with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission.

The Manager will lead the home and living teams with practical experience in the provision of high-quality supports and services to people with disability in supported independent living and individualised living options, including people with complex disability and their families.

The Manager will work in partnership with people with disability, their families, Team Leaders and our support workers to develop and implement quality and safe personalised supports. The role will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and delivery of people's NDIS plans and improve outcomes, develop positive relationships and manage partnerships with the community. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring the efficient management of staff rosters and schedules, Team Leaders budget management and driving the operational performance of Team Leaders and their teams.

The Manager will regularly visit site locations to ensure compliance and quality of service delivery, ensuring documentation is regularly reviewed and up to date to confirm currency and accuracy of all documents, support plans and budgets.

Reporting to the General Manager NDIS, the Manager will be based at the Diversity South Offices in Mandurah, Western Australia but will travel regularly across Peel, Upper South West and South Metropolitan regions. Flexible work arrangements are available including working from home.

The Manager will be an integral part of the Diversity South leadership team, have extensive NDIS experience, and be able to encourage and grow the team and deliver on strategies to continue the sustainable growth of high-quality supports and services to meet the needs, aspirations and goals of people with disability involved with Diversity South.

The Manager has highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and develop and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of people, especially as the Manager is required to work in an environment of addressing issues of a sensitive nature.

The Manager also plays a key role in developing our capacity and capability to meet current and future service needs. This includes the ability to analyse data, identify trends, manage risks and actively participate in research and evaluation that guides the continuous improvement of our services.

The Manager will have a strong commitment to the human rights of people with disability and will promote inclusion, choice and independence and adhere to the NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Code of Conduct and ensure compliance requirements of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission are met.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Manage and ensure effective daily, shift and on-call operations of support services, including the provision of formal supervision and management of teams.
- Ensure consistently high standards of service delivery
- Provide leadership and management of WHS issues
- Prepare management reports as required
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including people with disability, families and guardians
- Ensure the efficient co-ordination of rosters alongside our Administration to support and meet the individual support needs of people with disability, service funding and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements and Diversity South policies and procedures
- Manage the administrative responsibilities including, but not limited to; claiming for services, developing and maintaining client support plans, database management
- Manage critical incidents as they arise including debriefing and engaging with internal support functions

Key Attributes
- High level understanding of the NDIS, especially home and living operations with a thorough understanding of the management, sustainability, workforce and practice issues facing the disability sector in WA.
- Ability to manage performance and culture in the workplace, with a commitment to improved outcomes and a positive employee experience.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people with disability, families, and establishing strong linkages with internal and external stakeholders from a variety of organisations, including government and community stakeholders.
