The Strategic Communications Branch, within the Department of Health, delivers the strategic communications priorities of Queensland Health, and supports communication activities delivered by Hospital and Health Services.This is an exciting permanent full-time position located in the Brisbane CBD.
About the roleThe Social and Digital Media Officer is in the Social and Digital Media team. The Social and Digital Media team:

- identifies, plans, and develops positive, proactive, and reactive social and digital media strategies, campaigns, and content
- manages and moderates Queensland Health owned social and digital media platforms, including the podcast, blog, e-newsletter and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn)
- develops and implements the Department's social and digital media advertising strategy.

**The successful personThe successful person will**:

- have great interpersonal and written communication skills, to, to effectively communicate with Queensland Health's social media audiences, in line with a set style guide and tone of voice.
- havecustomer service experience in a professional environment, to effectively manage enquiries, source information, and escalate any issues appropriately.
- know all about contemporary digital and social media communication platforms, practices and analytical skills, to forecast and identify trends and challenges in the new media landscape.
- have experience using and interpreting analytics, such as Facebook Insights and Google Analytics, to track and assess the performance of social media channels and content, evaluating the results against key performance indicators and reporting them to management.
- be able to to collaborate and contribute to the positive culture of a team with a track record of maintaining a customer service mentality and supporting all colleagues to succeed.

The branch delivers on the strategic communications priorities of Queensland Health. SCB provides strategic communications advice and manages all communications outputs for the Department of Health and acts as system leader in supporting communication activities delivered by Hospital and Health Services.SCB oversees:

- communications strategy development, delivery and evaluation
- statewide behaviour change marketing campaigns
- consumer research and insights
- media and issues management
- corporate and clinical communications
- internal communications
- partnerships and sponsorships
- strategic stakeholder engagement
- digital and social media content production and management
- creative, design and audio-visual production services
- online and web services
- events management.
