The Doorways to Parenting Program aims to support vulnerable and at-risk families in Tasmania. The program runs parenting education programs (groups) and also offer individual counselling and offers a suite of evidence-based parenting programs, individual case management and counselling as well as playgroups and support groups.

Doorways to Parenting currently operates out of 6 sites around Tasmania: Clarence and New Town in the South of the state, and Kings Meadows, Launceston -Summerhill/Prospect, Devonport and Burnie.

Why this role matters

We currently have an exciting state-wide opportunity for a values-driven Doorways to Parenting Manager, to manage, coordinate and develop a state-wide suite of programs that support and train vulnerable families to improve child safety, wellbeing, and school readiness, improve parenting skills, improve engagement with support services and community.

The role you could play
- Manage the Doorways to Parenting staff state-wide through supervision, training and professional development within the best practice, early intervention Doorways model.
- Maintain strong relationships with State & Commonwealth Government Departments, other funding agencies, service providers, business and peak industry bodies.
- Identify opportunities to increase the delivery of a "fee for service" model for the Northwest and Southern Doorway to Parenting programs.
- Provide professional supervision to Doorways to Parenting Case Managers monthly
- Recruit, train and maintain volunteers to work collaboratively with staff to deliver best practice family support programs

This is a permanent full-time position based in Howrah. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, Level 6.

What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling with extensive management experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience in understanding, managing relevant service agreements, statutory requirements, standards and policy to child protection and family support programs
- Demonstrated ability and experience in working collaboratively with communities, networks, other agencies and statutory bodies
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Child Protection
Service issues and Children, Young Persons and their Families Act 1997
- A current TAS Drivers Licence
- Valid TAS Employee Working with Vulnerable Persons Check
- Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
