About the Opportunity
As a Mental Health RN, you will:
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients with acute and chronic mental health needs.
Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centred care.
Support patients and families in decision-making, advocacy, and discharge planning.
Supervise and mentor ENs and AINs where required.
Contribute to clinical quality, safety, and improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.

Strong clinical and risk management skills.

Experience in drug and alcohol nursing.
Confidence in patient advocacy and communicating risks.
Permanent, full-time nursing positions (no casual or contract work).
Salary aligned with experience under Level 1.4 RN classification.

Role Scope
As a Locum Mental Health Registered Nurse with cmr, you'll experience a range of meaningful roles across Australia's mental health care landscape.
From community outreach to acute interventions, you'll provide critical support and care in:
Acute Mental Health: Work in fast-paced acute care settings, managing urgent mental health crises, stabilising patients, and coordinating with emergency services.
Use your crisis intervention skills to make a rapid impact during high-pressure situations.
Inpatient Units: Deliver consistent, supportive care to individuals requiring more intensive mental health support.
You'll manage daily assessments, administer medication, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to help stabilise and rehabilitate patients on their path to recovery.
Community Mental Health: Be a key resource for patients outside the hospital environment, offering case management, comprehensive assessments, and care planning.
Your work in community settings allows you to build deeper connections, empower clients, and support them through their recovery journey.
Criteria
To excel in this role, you should have:
Qualifications: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA without restrictions.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in mental health nursing.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities to engage effectively with patients and team members.
Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Transportation: A valid driver's license for regional and remote roles.
Flexibility: Willingness to commit to travel nursing contracts in regional/remote areas for at least 12 weeks.
