Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.Be part of the team that's up for the challenge of transforming lives for good.About The ProjectGold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.With construction works underway, John Holland is actively recruiting for a talented and driven Safety Advisor to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.About The RoleAs a Safety Advisor you will monitor and support the safety function under general supervision to provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems and procedures on site.Responsibilities Of The Role IncludeMonitor compliance with the safety systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the project management teamImplement safety programs for project employeesAssist with workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processesAssist with conducting incident and accident investigationsConduct safety inspections and monitoring work areasEstablish positive working relationships with project personnel and raise awareness of safety risksAssist in the development of communications tools and records for all project safety meetingsPrepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of project safety programsTo Be Successful In This Role, You Will HaveDiploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalentSafety Lead Auditor qualificationConstruction safety management experience (3+ years)Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controlsExperience monitoring, reviewing and performing compliance inspectionsSkills in safety management techniques and toolsAs part of the team, you can help us transform lives.We're about connecting your sense of purpose to ours.
