The primary purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Property Underwriting teams based in Queensland and Northern Territory to provide professional underwriting standards to internal and external customers, develop and implement required underwriting action plans and to deliver quality service and financial targets to Plan whilst ensuring underwriting and compliance standards.

**You'll be responsible for**:

- Leading and coaching a high-performing and supportive team of Property Underwriters.
- Working with Distribution teams to ensure a highly responsive service mindset is adopted that actively contributes to a strong customer centric culture.
- Establishing a strategic planning rhythm for pipeline and renewal opportunities with
- Distribution to maximise conversion and retention rates. Managing workflow processes across the Property Underwriting team to ensure market leading customer service is delivered to maintain positive Net Promoter Score (NPS) results.
- Contributing to the design of new systems, processes, and procedures with a view of delivering superior underwriting functions.
- Developing and implementing targeted business optimisation initiatives to ensure Underwriting meets customer and people targets.
- Facilitating an inclusive and collaborative environment with all Commercial initiatives and programs to further build on Allianz People Attributes and to ensure diverse thinking/best outcomes.

**About you**:

- Demonstrated previous experience as a Property Underwriting Manager or a seasoned Senior Underwriter with ISR experience within General Insurance is highly preferred.
- Ability to lead, coach and build high performing teams.
- Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge, and elicit beneficial outcomes.
- Ability to read the market and understand customer requirements to identify, pursue, and close business development opportunities that contribute to the profitability of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage contract negotiations to ensure favourable commercial and financial conditions for AAL, whilst ensuring mutual agreement between parties is achieved.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence. Can also demonstrate strong presentation skills that are engaging and impactful.
