This is a unique opportunity for someone who lives and breathes golf to combine their love for the game with strategic sales and business development.
In this role, you'll be instrumental in identifying new opportunities, driving revenue growth, and positioning Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat as a premier destination for golf and sporting group experiences.As a key member of our team, you'll take the lead in developing and managing client relationships, executing innovative sales strategies, and representing both Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat within the golf and sporting industries.
With a strong focus on proactive outreach, strategic partnerships, and long-term account management, you'll help shape the future of sporting tourism at two of the most prestigious properties in the Hunter Valley.Key Responsibilities Include:Develop and implement targeted sales strategies to grow the Golf & Sporting Groups segment across markets, with a focus on increasing group bookings and revenue at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat.Identify, manage, and nurture key accounts within the golf, sports club, school, and leisure travel sectors, fostering long-term partnerships and repeat business.Drive proactive business development through outbound sales activity, lead generation, tailored proposals, and on-site client engagement.Work closely with resort operations, events, and revenue teams to optimise group occupancy, maximise yield, and ensure seamless guest experiences.Represent Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat at golf tournaments, industry trade shows, and networking events to build brand visibility and convert high-value leads.Maintain accurate CRM records, track pipeline activity, and report on sales performance metrics including conversion rates and revenue targets.Conduct regular site inspections and client meetings to strengthen relationships and ensure alignment with client expectations and service delivery standards.Collaborate with event partners and vendors to support logistics, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the successful execution of group stays and sporting events.Partner with Marketing and relevant Tourism and Sporting Organisations to create co-branded campaigns and destination marketing initiatives that drive group demand.QualificationsTo be successful in this role you willrequire the following skills, experience and qualifications:3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the tourism industry, demonstrating a solid understanding of market dynamics and customer needsA proven track record of driving sales growth and expanding business opportunities, with measurable results in revenue and client acquisitionExceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, with the capacity to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiencesOutstanding attention to detail and advanced time management skills, ensuring precision and efficiency in all tasks and responsibilitiesStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyse solutions, and implement effective resolutionsExperience working collaboratively within a larger team, contributing to and aligning with collective business goals and strategiesA polished professional presentation and a strong work ethic, reflecting a high level of dedication and integrity in all professional interactions.Additional InformationJoin our positive and vibrant team and be rewarded with these team benefits:50% discounts on accommodation across all Minor Hotel brands in Australia and New Zealand20% team member's friend and family discount on accommodation across all Minor Hotel brands in Australia and New ZealandAdditional paid leave includingBirthday and Study leave.Educational Financial support may be available to those who undertake development relevant to the company's business requirements.NIB Insurance discounts Discount savings and cash back from over 400 popular retailers in Australia and New ZealandEntertainment and experience discounts (Opera Australia; Australia Zoo; BRG Brands- Experience oz, Adrenaline and RedBalloon)Discount on FurnitureWellbeing programs with Uprise (EAP)Wellness Programs at Elysia Wellness retreat Accommodation, all F&B, all Wellness Activities, Spa Treatments (depends on length of program to how many) and Wellness one on one consults.Our people drive the success of our business, so we will invest in your skills to allow you to grow and progress through your career.You'll feel at home as part of a close team who thrive on delivering exceptional guest experiences and working in a company focused on ensuring the best work place culture.Currently, we are only accepting applications from candidates who have working rights within Australia or New Zealand.
