Everyday Horizon Power supplies electricity to over 110,000 residents and 10,000 businesses in remote and regional Western Australia. Spanning a service area of 2.3 million square kilometres, we are responsible for the largest geographical catchment of any Australian power provider.

**About the role**
Reporting to Senior Manager Communications, the Manager Communications will lead the external and internal communications team and activities to protect and strengthen Horizon Power's reputation and support the business to achieve its purpose and strategic goals.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Develop and manage communication strategies, policies and frameworks that ensure a clear, consistent, and credible narrative to the Horizon Power corporate strategy, as well as anticipate and manage reputational risks.
- Proactively position Horizon Power in the media as a leader in the energy transition.
- Lead the development and delivery of a proactive Executive profiling approach.
- Lead media engagement and media relationships, including acting as a spokesperson for the business.
- Develop and implement Horizon Power's internal communication and employee engagement strategy, digital platforms and engagement activities to ensure all employees are informed, engaged and motivated.
- Partner with Executives and CEO to deliver communications initiatives and campaigns across the business.
- Lead the CEO internal engagement activities including the CEO roadshow and senior leadership forum.
- Oversee management of internal communications channels and tactics, including intranet, various events, E-newsletters, Yammer and HPTV.
- Periodic reporting, measurement and evaluation of key activities and initiatives to demonstrate return on investment, success against objectives, and alignment to corporate strategy.
- Develop and manage Horizon Power's issues, emergency, and crisis communications management plan, ensuring this remains relevant, functional and up to date.
- Be an integral member of Horizon Power's crisis communications response team.

In addition to sharing our passion, to be successful in this role you will have:

- Degree qualification in business, media, communications, politics or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in a corporate communications role.
- Reputation management experience and advising Executive and senior leaders demonstrate consideration for broader implications and making recommendations which are practical and results oriented.
- Media experience.
- Innovative and creative thinking, with knowledge of best practice and leading edge communication and engagement strategies, tactics and tools.
- Experience managing with small teams of communications professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage internal and digital communications activities with a focus on driving positive brand and reputation development and stakeholder engagement outcomes.
- Significant experience leading communication during crisis or issue management.
- Exceptional writing, editing and meticulous attention to detail.
- The ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality.
- Extensive understanding of digital communications.
