We need great people who will bring their imagination, skills and most importantly, their passion to our business.About the roleWe're on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Roasting & Quality Manager to join our Melbourne site.
This is a vital role responsible for making sure our coffee continues to taste exceptional every single day.You'll lead and manage the roasting and quality operations, ensuring smooth production scheduling, strong quality control, and preventative maintenance across our roasting equipment.
You'll work closely with our green bean team, support site operations, and act as a key voice in upholding Allpress's flavour and quality standards.You will:Lead, train, and coach team members across roasting and quality operationsOwn roasting schedules and green bean inventory management at the siteChampion quality control processes including tastings, cuppings, grading and reportingOversee roasting plant performance and preventative maintenance plansTroubleshoot equipment issues and manage external technical relationshipsCollaborate with internal stakeholders, including coffee, operations and commercial teamsDrive continuous improvement in efficiency, sustainability, and product consistencySupport and implement food safety, HACCP, and quality certification standardsBe a flavour guardian, making sure our coffee consistently meets our high expectationsThis is a hands-on role with national influence, perfect for someone who understands the craft and the science of roasting, and is passionate about building a quality-driven coffee culture.About youAt least 5 years' experience in coffee or related production/quality rolesProven track record in roasting operations and quality assuranceConfident leading teams and training others in process and best practiceStrong understanding of green bean handling, equipment maintenance, and supply planningExperience working with preventative maintenance and continuous improvement toolsSkilled in cupping, sensory evaluation and flavour profiling (Q Grader preferred)Knowledge of HACCP, food safety and compliance frameworksA calm and methodical approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysisStrong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindsetWorking at AllpressIn addition to great company culture, we offer some nice staff perks including as much free coffee as you like while at work, 250g of beans to take home weekly, a free and confidential Employee Assistance Program, Parental Leave and Wellbeing allowances.
