**About the role**
McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd are currently recruiting for experienced Utilities Managers to join our team located in Melbourne, Victoria.

**Some of the responsibilities of our Utilities Managers include**:

- Promote total job safety and environmental awareness to employees, subcontractors and all persons on projects and stress to all employees and subcontractors the importance senior management attaches to safety and the environment. Compliance with appropriate OH&S Legislation.
- Oversee the effective management and successful and timely completion of project.
- Manage the Project Engineers to ensure their duties are carried out in accordance with objectives.
- Assist with developing professional depth within the Business Unit/Region.
- Assist in the preparation of operating budgets and ensure agreed objectives for new work won, EBIT, safety and the environment are achieved.
- Carry out Client Reviews at the end of every Project.
- Management of Construction Methodologies for adoption in Tenders.
- Carry out all Performance Reviews with resultant "actions" implemented.
- Planned HSE and other training to be carried out.
- Assist with identification, researching the marketplace for new Transport opportunities.
- Assist with building existing and recommending and establishing, new relationships with key clients, consultants and partners in the region.

**About your capability, behaviours and experience**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Relevant experience in major construction project management.
- Broad understanding of wide range of construction techniques, HS&E responsibilities and risk/contingency assessment.
- Broad understanding of construction and infrastructure design principles.
- Competent in understanding and interpretation of conditions of contract affecting all stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of financial reports, e.g. Budgets/Forecast, and interrogation of project financial reports (Workbench).
- Working knowledge of IMS, Industrial Relations, awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Understanding of estimating principles.
- Proven ability to lead, direct and deliver results within agreed time frames.
