Utility Meter Technician

We are seeking casual Utility Meter Technicians for a role based in Melbourne's South Eastern and Eastern suburbs. As a Utility Meter Technician, you will drive to an allocated route and walk from property to property, recording utility consumption numbers in an electronic hand-held device.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role - with added benefits to the amount of work you put into your day-to-day. You will have flexible hours, allowing for a great work-life balance, and early starts available so you can have afternoons off.

The job involves physically demanding tasks such as extensive walking, bending, and squatting. You must be able to work in most weather conditions and represent our client in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organise your work day and routes efficiently
  • Accurately record allocated meter readings in a timely, efficient and safe manner
  • Understand and ensure efficiency targets are met
  • Publicly represent our client in a professional manner at all times
  • Regularly communicate with office support team to facilitate smooth operations
  • Upload/download route information to/from hand-held computer seamlessly
  • Report to office as required

To be considered for this role, you will need a great attitude and strong work ethic, good physical fitness level, and excellent attention to detail. Prior experience as a Utility Meter Technician is not required, but experience in a similar physically demanding role would be ideal.

You will also need to have a reliable vehicle, Australian Driver's Licence, and access to a reliable mobile phone with credit.
