OverviewMedical Staff Credentialing Officer – St John of God Health Care, Midland Hospital.
We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to provide high-quality administrative support to the Medical Services Team.
You will manage information with accuracy and ensure effective communication with Senior Medical Staff to facilitate credentialing operations.ResponsibilitiesAttention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency in managing credentialing documentation and maintaining compliance throughout every stage of the process.Assist with medical staff onboarding, including AHPRA requirements and liaising with Group HR for completion of pre-commencement paperwork and checks.Provide secretariat support for the Scope of Practice Committee including preparing and distributing committee papers, minute taking, facilitating action items and assisting the Director of Medical Services as relevant.Coordinate timely registration of Medicare billable provider numbers to ensure doctors have a billable number before each term commences, liaising with junior doctors and Medicare.Coordinate timely registration of Health Funds for all applicable doctors to ensure compliance before each term and manage billing registration issues as directed by the Medical Practitioner Billing Manager.Ensure timely escalation to the Medical Administration Manager in the event of doctor non-compliance when obtaining provider numbers and health fund registration paperwork.Liaise with internal and external parties to monitor and update credentialing requirements.Qualifications / RequirementsCustomer-focused with the ability to use initiative and organise and prioritise clerical tasks with minimal supervision.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.Experience in credentialing senior medical practitioners within a fast-paced hospital setting (employed, contracted, or VMOs) is ideal.Commitment to Mission and Values.We can offer youSalary: $85,508 to $87,204 per annum, plus 12% superannuationPermanent full-time role, 38 hours per weekWelcoming and supportive cultureSalary packaging up to $18,550 on benefits including mortgage, rent, meals, holiday accommodation, and other living expenses, plus options to salary package benefits above the FBT cap (e.g., novated leasing, work-related expenses, self-education, additional superannuation)Access to Fitness Passport and wellbeing programsFlexible work options and additional purchased leaveDiscounts on hospital services & private health insuranceImportant: If suitable applicants are identified, advertisement may close prior to listed date and screening/interviews may commence during the advertising process.All applicants are asked to submit a covering letter (no more than two pages) demonstrating how you meet the position requirements.For enquiries, contact Jackie Vann, Manager of Medical Services, ph. 9462 5971.Closing Date: 29 September 2025St John of God Health Care is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.
