About the role:
To manage and develop a portfolio of Gas Certification Schemes within a defined Business Stream to deliver high-quality, "right-first-time" product evaluation.

The Certification Manager will manage certification schemes for Gas related products (also including hydrogen), delivering high-quality, "right-first-time" product evaluation, achieving client satisfaction, and achieving its commercial targets.

Certification Manager Responsibilities:

- The Certification Manager delivers accredited (and unaccredited) certification projects to clients on behalf of BSI.
- Deliver projects with individual values from a few hundred pounds up to c£100,000.
- Manages own time to achieve an appropriate balance between targets for delivery, sales, and development.
- Global travel is required to support business development growth and client certification requirements.
- The business has many active and demanding clients, and frequent conflicts will arise trying to prioritize and manage all these clients. The Certification Manager is required to plan and prioritize project efforts (sometimes on a day-to-day basis) to ensure business objectives are met and client expectations are exceeded.
- The Certification Manager will operate unsupervised on client and sub-contractor premises (including overseas) and will need to make on-the-spot judgments regarding the activity of self and others (client and/or BSI staff).

Education/Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field required
- Detailed knowledge of a range of International, European, British, and American Standards and/or other relevant documents and procedures (as relevant to a specific post).
- Extensive experience in Certification techniques used in Certification Bodies. Including in-depth knowledge of the quality requirements detailed in relative international good-practice documents (such as EN 45011 or ISO Guide 65).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Lead Auditor preferred
