Trainee Certification Manager

Purpose of Position

Responsible for the processing of Certification Client Applications, Certificates of Conformity, and effective Certification enquiry management for Product Certification scheme(s) within the defined Business Stream.

Working with Certification Managers to learn and understand the key elements, technical and administrative, for a suite of Kitemark and European Directives Product Certification schemes.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Process all Applications to ensure delivery within agreed timescales
- Proactive management of client inquiries (internal and external)
- Proactively resolve any client issues and where necessary flag any client concerns with the Team Manager
- Communicate progress with clients and maintain excellent client relationships
- Identify and proactively share potential new business opportunities with sales
- Identify and proactively share opportunities for new and existing product certification schemes with the Team Manager
- Proactively participate in key change initiatives (e.g new systems, processes, regimes)
- Manage workload to provide regular and ongoing activity data for business data, including submissions of accurate monthly forecasts and planning
- Ensure PG and Outlook Express diaries are managed accurately at all times
- Effective use of all BSI information systems
- Ensure BSI Group Rules and local policies and practices are being followed and addressed as appropriate
- Provide support services to the department as required.
- Providing coverage across the Fenestration and Construction area; supporting in times when the greater focus is required for example following scheme reviews and increased Certificate Recommendations.
- Supporting Certification Managers when away from the business to ensure that any issues or queries, sales, and general requests are responded to in a timely manner.
- To build up rapport and support with both internal and external test laboratories. With a particular initial focus on the external test laboratories; chasing for samples, establishing availability if required for specific jobs, progress updates, reporting any mid-way results to clients, dealing with external laboratories invoices, and resolving any queries that may arise.
- To support the Global Offices on requests for information such as updates to Certification and linked testing.
- The ability to take on low-maintenance Kitemark schemes to build up a portfolio of Certification Schemes.
- Future succession planning and the ability to increase sustainability within the teams for future growth.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

- An academic or technical qualification (VCE) at least
- Customer-focused with excellent service orientation
- Strong relationship builder
- Good organization skills
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Good report writing
- Computer literate
