**POULTRY FARMER**

**Location: Harkaway, VIC 3806**

**Tenure: Full-time, Permanent**

**Comprehensive salary package from $54,000 pa (plus superannuation)**

**Position Summary**:
On behalf of our client, Global Skilled Employment Services is looking for a skilled and experienced Poultry Farmer who have strong communication and time management skills, self-motivated and must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Main duties includes:

- Raising poultry to produce eggs and meat
- Selecting and purchasing poultry stock
- Feeding and waters poultry
- Cleaning and disinfecting poultry houses, cages, and nests
- Placing vaccines in drinking water, injects vaccines into poultry, or dusts air with vaccine powder to vaccinate poultry against diseases
- Inspection and disposing of or segregates infected poultry
- Collecting, inspecting, and packing eggs and selects and crates pullets and fryers for shipment
- Maintaining growth, feed, and production records
- May also incubate fertile eggs
- May also require skills in leading a small team or groups and ability to train new members of the team.

This is a full-time position which may involve weekend work and some unplanned hours of work where the need arises.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in agriculture or higher equivalent
- At least 3 years recent relevant work experience

**Other skills**:

- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Advance knowledge in animal husbandry, animal welfare and legislation, poultry production, and OH&S;
- Knowledge in computer programs/software is an advantage.

**Salary**: From $54,000.00 per year

**Education**:
