**Position Summary**

The Central Ship Planning Systems Trainer will provide the training and supervision necessary to coordinate, support and monitor the activities of developing and implementation of new technologies and software within the Customer Centre. This will enable the department to provide the required service on a national basis to the main Oceania container terminals operated by DP World Oceania and to develop and sustain first-class service interfaces (for both internal and external customers).

**Key Accountabilities**
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with both internal and external customers, continuously building upon and improving service levels
- Supervise and support the planning staff of the Customer Centre with particular emphasis on enhanced system use and new technologies.
- Provide training to ship planning and other staff at Customer Centre on internal systems.
- Maximize use of software functionality and develop internal planning processes in the Centre keeping up to date with new software releases and enhancements.
- In conjunction with National Planning Manager and GM Customer Centre actively seek and promote opportunities to modify and develop internal/external planning procedures and methods that will enhance the terminals' operations. Develop any refinements or improvements that enhance this process with particular regard to communication lines and protocol to the local sites. Remain up-to-date with all aspects of ship limitations for all services planned from the centre, including on-deck obstructions, cargo stowage layouts, draft limitations, tier weigh restrictions etc.

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Relevant tertiary and/or senior maritime qualifications
- 3-5 years relevant industry experience.
- Understanding of all areas of vessel operations including coordinating, scheduling and planning.
- In-depth knowledge of the operations and methods of working at the four main container terminals (FT, FIT, PBT and WST).
