Job Title: Senior Ship Systems Designer

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team as Senior Ship Systems Designers. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering design services to develop systems for naval ships with responsibility for outfitting and related systems.

  • Develop ship platform systems documentation (impact analyses, drawings, reports) and deliver technical reports and documentation to customer standards.
  • Create naval ships' auxiliary systems specifications and related design documentation; ensure compliance with Classification Society rules and ship design standards.
  • Liaise with clients and subcontractors to ensure compliance with legislative requirements (IMO, AMSA, Commercial and Naval Standards).
  • Analyse and verify project requirements; conduct design studies and analyses using Hull Design, 3D modelling, Finite Element and other engineering software.
  • Project manage tasks including scheduling, resourcing, budgeting, progress monitoring and reporting; participate in design coordination and client review meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clear, well-presented reports and designs.
  • Understanding of mechanical and ship platform systems (propulsion, hydraulics, pumps, piping, cranes, winches, HVAC, fire suppression, etc.).
  • Experience with CAD/3D software (MicroStation, AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of technical shipbuilding regulations (Classification Society and IMO requirements).
  • Project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work autonomously, use initiative, and deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
