**How will I Help?**

The role of Associate Director, Credit Strategy, will focus on providing single name and industry based strategy views on Australian and New Zealand corporates and banks. You will be expected to take leadership on selected industry sectors and provide credit views based on a combination of fundamental and relative value research. Both written and verbal communication and presentation skills are key requirements.

The role will be on-site and will report to the Head of Credit Strategy (Dir.) and Head of Financial Markets Strategy (ED).

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

- Bottom-up fundamental analysis of single name credit;
- Industry and market analysis to support views where appropriate;
- Make recommendations on risk, pricing and trading of credit product;
- Develop credit views for presentation in open forums for internal and external clients;
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal clients and contacts including (but not limited to): Credit Trading, Credit Sales, Syndicate and Origination, the Financial Markets Economics and Strategy teams and Credit Relative Value; and,
- Develop and maintain relationships with key external clients and contacts including credit investors, credit issuers and rating agencies.

**What do I need?**

To be successful you will have the following:

- The ability to quickly form accurate opinions on companies and associated credit products across a broad range of industries;
- A practical understanding of financial statements and accounting principles, aided by a business degree and potentially post graduate qualifications (ie CFA, CA, MBA) along with the ability to navigate and utilise Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- A knowledge of credit ratings and rating agencies processes and an established understanding of credit risk fundamentals across the corporate and/ or financial space, with previous experience in an investment banking and/or investment firm preferred;
- An understanding of financial products including corporate bonds, credit derivatives, swaps and hybrids with a view to making recommendations in relation to these securities;
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and an ability to adapt to new delivery technologies;
- Ability to work in a team environment within the credit and wider financial markets franchise.
