**The Workers Sports Club **located on Reservoir Road in Prospect sits on a 55 acre land holding and is one of the largest privately owned sporting facilities in Australasia featuring many sports fields, tennis & netball courts, baseball diamond, amenities and three lawn bowling greens.

**The Workers Hubertus Country Club **is located in Luddenham in Sydney's southwest growth corridor. The Club is situated on 25 acres of land and is directly adjacent to the Badgerys Creek International Airport, Sydney's long awaited second international facility.

**Workers Lifestyle Group **is renowned in western Sydney for being the "Best in the West" and currently has a vacancy for a positive and focused** Purchasing Manager **to join our highly motivated and driven team.

**About the role..**

**This role **reports directly up to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for developing purchasing strategies and positive relationships with suppliers. Coordinating the supply needs with internal teams and overseeing the cellar team and their daily activities.

**To be successful in this role applicants must**:

- Be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes, have excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers.

- Previous experience in a Purchasing and Cellar
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
- The ability to be around people, train and lead by example
- Excellent communication skills across a wide group of stakeholders.

- Strong planning and organising skills
- Strong leadership and team player qualities
- Demonstrable emotional intelligence
- The courage to have difficult conversations with people when its required

- Full drivers license and able to drive a manual vehicle (essential)
- NSW RSA Competency Certification (desirable)
- Food Safety accreditation (desirable)
- Provide First Aid qualification (or willing to obtain)
- Tertiary qualification Business Administration / Purchasing (desirable)
- Current Forklift License (or willing to obtain)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software

**Duties within this role include**:

- Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
- Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
- Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
- Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
- Managing the maintenance of office/manufacturing/ cellar equipment and machinery.
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
- Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
- Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.
- Analyse supplier and delivery conditions to determine present and future food and beverage stock availability and prepare availability and cost analysis reports
- Supervise and direct purchasing functions such as product service research, supplier selection, price and contract terms negotiation, purchase order completion, etc.
- Research products supply information relating to food, beverage and general stores purchases
- Prepare and suggest CPI increases to be approved by Chief Operating Officer
- Prepares budget estimates and monitors departmental expenditures as directed by the Chief Operating Officer
- Orders replacement goods, coordinates organisation of stocked items and picks, pulls and packs items as requested from submitted supply requisit
