At Airwallex, we are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of
Director, Credit Risk
. This is a critical position that will shape and lead our credit risk strategies for our fast-scaling lending and credit business. As part of our team, you will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to create innovative credit products tailored to meet the evolving needs of Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs) in various industries.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of credit risk management, preferably with experience in fintech, lending, credit cards, or unsecured loans with scale-up/startup growth experience. They must possess strong business acumen and be able to drive credit risk strategy and acquisition underwriting for credit cards or unsecured loans. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire credit lifecycle, including origination, servicing, and collections, to optimize loan portfolio performance.
We're looking for someone who can build and maintain close relationships with balance sheet partners, investors, regulators, and other stakeholders, providing transparent communication on credit performance and risk management. Our team fosters a data-driven decision-making culture and encourages continuous improvement of our credit risk management strategy and policies to align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
