Maxima has been engaged to recruit a full time Landfill Supervisor for a southern based landfill site, providing and operating waste management services on behalf of local Councils.
**About the Role**:
Working within a Local Government subsidiary, the Landfill Supervisor is an integral part of the small and energetic team, responsible for leading and assisting the plant operators in the delivery of safe and effective landfill operations on a day-to-day basis. Ideal for an experienced supervisor living South of Adelaide, this role is an opportunity to lead and support the landfill team and to utilise best practice equipment and landfill software to achieve landfill management objectives, whilst maintaining Environment Protection Authority licensing requirements.
Duties include working with the Operations Manager to:
- Lead and direct a team to ensure that the landfill face and landfill area is operated and maintained in accordance with relevant standards.
- Ensure that all landfill assets receive planned maintenance.
- Ensure that daily machine tracking reports and weekly stocktakes are completed.
- Develop the work & resources plan and deliver associated tasks.
- Plan equipment maintenance and organise repairs / contractors in the event of a breakdown.
- Facilitate team pre-starts and safety audits.
- Provide training and assessment of new staff or labour hire.
- Follow all Work Health and Safety (WHS) Policies and Procedures and meet environmental requirements.
**About You**:
An experienced and collaborative plant operator with the demonstrated ability to lead a team working on multiple job fronts. Leading by example and not afraid to jump in and assist with manual work to build their team and raise their standards of customer service and work towards continual improvement of workplace standards.
- 5+ years demonstrated supervisory experience and certified qualification in civil or waste.
- High level of mechanical aptitude and ability to trouble shoot and co-ordinate repairs to plant equipment breakdowns.
- Experience operating mobile plant equipment.
- Competency with MS Office suite.
- Physically fit and able to complete manual work and labouring.

- Articulated dump truck / water cart
- Hold a Heavy Rigid Truck Licence
- White Card
- Bulldozer
**Desirable (not essential)**:
- Dogman's ticket
- Traffic management
- Experience in the waste industry
