The Faculty of Science teaches approximately 7000 full-time student equivalents, with an academic staff of approximately 500 and general staff of 300. The Faculty is one of the largest and most complex faculties of UNSW Sydney. It comprises the School of Aviation, Biological Earth and Environmental Science (BEES), Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences (BABS), Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Mathematics and Statistics, Psychology, and Physics. It also includes several major Research Centres and field stations.

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Industry Engagement Officer plays a key role in coordinating stakeholder engagement and business development activities for undergraduate science WIL programs, with a view to increasing participation in Science WIL courses.

The position will work closely with the WIL Administrator and Student Experience Officer to support the management of several concurrent WIL programs, with a focus on external partners and industry engagement activities.

The role of Industry Engagement Officer reports to the Education Partnerships Manager and has no direct reports.

**Specific responsibilities for this role include**:

- In collaboration with the Education Partnerships Manager, School WIL Academic Leads and other relevant UNSW staff, develop and maintain relationships with potential WIL partners, contacts and stakeholders in government, industry and community organisations, including UNSW Science alumni.
- Support the growth of UNSW Science work-integrated-learning and professional development programs through developing and implementing an effective industry engagement plan that meets relevant KPIs.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of engagement activities and connections with potential WIL partners, contacts and stakeholders.
- In collaboration with the WIL Administrator and Student Experience Officer, identify and target key student cohorts within UNSW Science to promote and grow participation in WIL programs and meet WIL external partner expectations.
- Act as the primary contact for external WIL stakeholders, maintaining effective channels of communication; assess, prioritise and escalate requests and correspondence including urgent and sensitive matters.
- Work with the Education Partnerships Manager and other relevant UNSW staff to coordinate meetings, events, and maintenance of websites, documents and marketing materials to support industry engagement activities.
- Develop and deliver quality reporting information, feedback and evaluation as required by internal and external stakeholders, particularly to support the Deputy Dean (Education) and Education Partnerships Manager.
- Represent UNSW Science at relevant events, meetings and forums, including occasional events outside of business hours.
- Participate in other ad hoc projects as required, under the direction of the Education Partnerships Manager.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualification preferably in a science related field with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in relationship management, stakeholder engagement, business development or similar.
- Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate openly and regularly with a range of stakeholders/client groups, and to deliver high quality public presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver programs with measurable outcomes that engage multiple stakeholders in either the public or private sector with a performance-oriented approach.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and to work under pressure, with minimum supervision and on mu
