About the roleThe Functional Analyst sits within the ETRM Applications team, supporting the development and maintenance of critical systems for Origin's Energy Risk Management and Wholesale & Trading functions.This role leads requirements gathering, analysis, and design across multiple business units, working with stakeholders and delivery teams to develop fit-for-purpose technology solutions.ResponsibilitiesLead requirements gathering and functional solution design during project delivery, ensuring alignment with business needs.Analyse business processes and service architecture to identify improvement opportunities and support solution development.Evaluate and present solution options, considering impacts on processes, maintenance, and support requirements.Perform detailed data analysis to inform solution assessments and ensure accuracy in functional specifications.Produce key functional deliverables, including documentation, UI/UX designs, test plans, and knowledge articles.Support testing activities by validating solutions, reviewing test cases, and assisting with user acceptance testing.Skills & RequirementsAt least 8 years of experience in business and IT environments in functional or business analysis roles in an agile environment.Experience in Front/Middle/Back office businesses in particular Energy Risk Management, Wholesale & Trading Markets.Fundamental data analysis and SQL skills.Preparation of documentation to suit different audiences (business cases, functional requirements, business process maps, presentation packs, system documentation and UI/UX design document).
