**More about what you'll do**
Reporting to the Group Category Manager - Solutions, the Product Sourcing Specialist is a tactical sourcing role, actively supporting tenders and deals.
As a dynamic and fast-paced role, the Product Sourcing Specialist requires strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. The primary focus is on finding immediate solutions by leveraging both current and potential new suppliers to secure the best products at the most competitive price.
In close collaboration with the Portfolio team, this role ensures the sourcing strategies for tenders and deals are align to the Portfolio Team strategic objectives and by combining market analysis, supplier negotiation, and internal stakeholders, the specialist strives to secure optimal terms and conditions that ultimately contribute to the success of tenders, deals and overall business performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- This role is required to deliver on Project Deadlines based off the Tender & Deals
- Responsible to Project manage each Project assigned to them from start to finish.
- Sourcing of new products
- Investigate and introduce new Suppliers and products to Portfolio Team.
- Supplier negotiation for Tender & Deals. May require consultation with portfolio team.
- Ensure we understand and communicate key areas of the procure to pay for new suppliers or where existing suppliers may waiver existing Commercial Agreements.
- Negotiate bulk deal opportunities with New & Existing Suppliers
- Strong Communication with the Portfolio Team to ensure they are aligned & project outcomes meets their Strategic Objective.
- Collaboration with Portfolio Team when approval required for New Products & Suppliers. Portfolio team owns the approval of product ranging and onboarding of new suppliers.
- Work in collaboration with interdepartmental teams.
- Drive a strategic selection approach of Back-To-School (BTS) products used for quoting BTS Subtype orders, work closely with the Education Sales Team that is assigned to you for the season

The ideal applicant will possess the following:
- Similar role or Previous experience in Category or Procurement Assistant
- Exposure to Supplier negotiations and relationships.
- Commercial Awareness
- Self-sufficient, autonomous, and driven by managing your own piece of business.
- Organised and excellent time management
- Strategically minded and forward thinking
- Autonomous and self-sufficient
- Analytical and precise
- Strong business acumen combined with commercial awareness.
- Understanding of supply chain
- Eye for detail
- Sound judgment, decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritise, with excellent time management skills.
