We are currently seeking an experienced Data Operations Specialist to join our Visual Effects Studio in Adelaide, Australia.

**Employment periods**:Long term contract.
**Location**:Adelaide, Australia. Open to Australian and International applicants.

**Position Overview**
Our Data Specialist is part of RSP's Technical Services Team which oversees all Data I/O, Editorial and Farm wrangling services. The Data specialist is responsible for the complex challenges of ingesting all incoming data making sure it conforms to both the client specifications and RSP's pipeline. These challenges will also extend to all outgoing data.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working alongside team members to establish, improve and execute all workflows and processes relating to the Data I/O of the Technical Services Department, ensuring they meet the highest of standards and security requirements.
- You are a key stakeholder for show setup, including, but not limited to imagining, resolution and colour.
- You have a good working knowledge of VFX vendor specifications, understanding what's being ingested and what's being delivered back to the client.
- You will work with the Infrastructure and Production Technology (Pipeline) teams to optimise and improve workflows and processes.
- Act as point of contact for the department, ensuring end-to-end data integrity, meeting the highest technical standards and specifications.
- You are accountable for processing, overseeing, tracking and managing all incoming and outgoing data to and from clients as well as our outsourced vendors.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of tools and automations alongside the Production Technology (Pipeline) team. Responsibilities will include some basic programming/scripting, defining requirements, as well as testing and validating tool development (primarily using Python and Nuke).
- Identified errors, diagnose problems in process when tasks are undertaken by the Technical Service Operators.
- Escalate issues in a timely manner and ensure follow through.
- Provide training and assistance to new co-workers on toolsets, processes and workflows.
- You are to ensure your knowledge is documented and training is done such that all functions, including show setup, can be performed effectively in your absence.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- **3+ years** experience working in a similar or related role.
- Proven experience with Linux, Windows and Mac operating systems and running command line scripts and tools.
- Knowledge of film cameras, recording formats, aspect ratio and colour management.
- Strong people and communication skills with an ability to communicate in both technical and artistic manner with various personality types.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve with competing deadlines which would highlight your strong time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to a high pressure, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
