Executive Director - Technical Services role at Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development.
Work Type: Contract up to 5 years with possible extension.
Location: Brisbane or Townsville (relocation assistance available).
Salary range: SES2(H) $248,829 to $268,888 total remuneration (including salary, 12.75% superannuation, leave loading and vehicle allowance).
Responsibilities
Lead a multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed team to deliver a diverse portfolio of mining, petroleum and gas projects across Queensland, including abandoned mines remediation and re-commercialisation programs, and management of state-owned non-commercial water assets.
Guide decisions that ensure public safety and economically attractive investment solutions.
Location flexibility: Brisbane or Townsville, with relocation assistance available.
About the role
As Executive Director, Technical Services, you'll lead a multi-disciplinary geographically dispersed team to deliver a diverse portfolio of complex mining, and petroleum and gas projects across Queensland, including abandoned mine remediation and re-commercialisation programs, and management of state-owned non-commercial water assets.
Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, Georesources division, you will provide tactical and strategic advice to executive Government and Ministerial staff on sensitive issues and collaborate across the public sector and industry to drive positive outcomes for all Queenslanders.
With a strong focus on project management, economic feasibility, and commercial probity, you will play a critical role in ensuring public safety through the effective management of Queensland's abandoned mines program, while fostering economically attractive investment opportunities that benefit all Queenslanders.
We are looking for the below expertise
Strong project management experience, in a resource sector or state-owned asset environment.
Understanding of economic feasibility of resource sector or state-owned asset operations.
Experience navigating complex commercial, probity, governance and legal frameworks.
Experience leading remote, dispersed technical experts to deliver broad works/programs and capital expenditure.
