Rentokil Initial has an exciting position available for an experienced Operations Manager to join our vibrant, passionate, fast paced Initial Team.

You will manage, develop and lead our Initial Medical Waste & Specialty Services team across Victoria maintain our safety first culture and with a will to exceed targets in mind. _

**The Melbourne Branch is seeking an Operations Manager - Medical Waste & Specialty Services for the Initial Hygiene division operating across our Port Melbourne and Geelong offices and reporting to the State Business Manager. The role will be part of the Victorian Management Team and will be responsible for the servicing of our Clinical & Medical Waste, Premium Scenting, Air Purification, and First Aid customers across the state.**

Safety will be your highest priority followed by delivering the best service, at the lowest possible cost, with our values of Service, Relationships, Teamwork & Responsibility being the core focus of this role. The Operations Manager will drive team engagement resulting in strong teams, staff retention and exceptional service delivery.

The role

This new role will be currently responsible to manage technicians, conducting some of our more high-risk services across the state. The Operations Manager - Specialty Services will also manage relationships with key internal stakeholders that are crucial to the team's success, such as the (Divisional) Operations Managers, Sales Manager, Customer Service Manager, Sales Executives, SHE BP (Safety & Compliance) and HR BP. The Operations Manager - Specialty Services is a senior leader within the Victorian business managing a high-performing team whose success is essential to the success of the overall branch.

**The purpose of this position is to**:

- Safety of our people, state of service, quality of service, planning, and productivity, people engagement, recruitment, retention, and development are key outputs, coupled with the ability to control and manage a profit and loss account, a fleet of vehicles, and stock.
- Lead and manage service delivery with our Technicians, Local Service Managers, Customers and internal stakeholders at a local level.
- Delivering the best service at the lowest possible cost is a core focus of this role.
- Planning and organising yourself and others to be responsive and be able to adapt to customer requests quickly and effectively as well as driving consistent service delivery performance.
- Coaching & Leadership ability.
- Experience in the Waste or Service Industry.
- Able to contribute to the development of the annual operational plan.
- Able to successfully partner with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and review team's performance and seek continual improvement.
- Ability to manage costs and deliver on KPI's.
- Ability to follow through and deliver as required.

**Essential**:

- An understanding of SHE and compliance standards.
- Experience in Clinical & Medical Waste, Premium Scenting, Air Purification and Installations in a sales or operations management role where you have been leading a team successfully.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional leadership ability with the ability to coach and motivate teams to exceed performance expectations.
- A high level of customer service skills, both external and internal.
- Demonstrable and proven business acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
