In the role of Advisor (Freight) you will ensure a multi-modal approach in the development of freight plans, strategies and policies to inform and influence policy, planning and investment decisions that support an integrated, resilient and safe multi-modal freight system for Queensland's economy and communities. You will be responsible for program reporting and coordination across the Freight Unit and Transport and Main Roads'.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Support the timely development of reporting on freight strategies and policies in response to government priorities and direction that enhance the efficiency, development and integration of the multi-modal freight system in Queensland.
- Provide high level written and verbal advice to support the development of executive-level briefing notes, ministerials, reports, submissions, business cases and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
- Support specific multi-modal freight and broader supply chain activities and/or projects that deliver on government priorities and departmental strategies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of high-level advice and/or briefings on freight supply chain issues and challenges, and emerging national, state and local government freight planning, policy and related initiatives.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, reporting and review of departmental freight programs and initiatives under the Queensland Freight Strategy and Queensland Freight Action Plan.
- Support the Director (Freight), and the wider freight team, in program governance, reporting and administrative activities in support of projects that deliver on government priorities and departmental strategies.
- Providing high-quality program coordination support to the Director (Freight), and other team members to ensure the preparation of all documentation complies with governance frameworks, business processes, formatting requirements and clearly articulates the department's intent and the necessary action/s required.
- Build and maintain effective networks to ensure relationships are managed effectively, including timely provision of accurate and quality information, resolution of issues.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other divisions and government agencies, to ensure accurate and timely information flows while adhering to correspondence protocols and being responsive to changes in stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Maintain and monitor documentation flow through DocTrak and other systems to meet deadlines.
- Model quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.

This position reports to the Manager (Freight Project Coordination).
