In the role of Senior Advisor (Freight Strategy and Initiatives) you are required to work across teams to support the coordination and management of the department's strategic freight agenda aimed at developing and effectively operating an efficient multi-modal freight transport system supporting Queensland's economic development.
This role supports TMR to deliver an integrated, resilient, and safe multi-modal freight system for Queensland's economy and communities, fostered through innovative solutions to existing and emerging freight and supply chain issues aligned with the department's strategic freight agenda and policy positions.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Support the department's strategic freight agenda aimed at developing and effectively operating an efficient multi-modal freight transport system supporting Queensland's economic development.
• Support the development and delivery of high priority multi-modal freight strategies and initiatives that respond to stakeholder requirements and are aligned to broader government priorities and departmental strategies.
• Provide professional secretariat support for internal and external working groups/committees and identify collaborative solutions to freight systems challenges, in response to stakeholder feedback and in alignment with the department's strategic freight agenda and policy positions.
• Prepare and review executive-level briefing notes, ministerials, reports, submissions, business cases and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards to effectively brief the Minister and other senior management on various issues, activities and/or projects.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal units, government agencies, local government, industry, community, private sector, and other stakeholders related to freight, logistics and supply chain matters.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Experience in providing secretariat services, with a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
• Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.
• Strong written communication skills, with experience in developing executive level briefing notes, ministerials, reports, submissions, business cases and other correspondence in line with departmental standards.
• Experience supporting the development of strategies and other strategic initiatives to achieve government and departmental objectives, with a demonstrated ability to navigate change and ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
• Knowledge and understanding of, or the ability to acquire, freight and supply chain issues, trends, challenges, and opportunities.
