About the Role
NGS Super is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our Engineering team. This pivotal role will see you delivering robust, scalable, and secure backend systems that enhance our technology capabilities.
You will leverage expertise in modern backend frameworks and methodologies to build reusable codebases, ensure high system performance, and safeguard data integrity and security.
This position will be deeply involved in the development cycle, contributing to the architecture of cutting-edge backend solutions for NGS digital products and digital initiatives. You will also play an instrumental role in delivering a new cloud-based data warehouse, related technologies, and supporting future workloads of AI/ML applications.
Main Responsibilities:
Design, develop and maintain scalable and secure RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
Build and maintain synchronous and asynchronous microservices/serverless functions using Node.js and Python
Integrate with cloud, third party, SaaS or on-premise databases
Design and manage secure authentication and authorisation flows using OAuth2/OIDC/SAML
Manage cloud components utilising infrastructure as code
Develop and integrate AI and ML workloads within the cloud
Automate CI/CD pipelines and monitor back-end services
Write unit/integration tests, participate in code reviews and ensure best practices in API design & performance
Maintain visibility into system health and security using logging/monitoring tools
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal DevOps practices, standards, guidelines and ways of working
Respond to and manage incidents to minimise downtime and impact on users
Continuously monitor the performance and availability of the systems
Ensure strong documentation of all design decisions, procedures and playbooks
