Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Systems Architect to design and develop scalable backend systems that power our enterprise-wide data initiatives. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building robust, high-performance systems using modern development practices.

You will be instrumental in designing and developing next-generation data platforms, including backend services and APIs, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data processing solutions that integrate with various data sources.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality backend services and APIs using Java Spring Boot, ensuring seamless integration with other systems.
  • Build reusable libraries and config-driven data ingestion frameworks to optimize system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data products and insights, driving business growth through data-driven decision making.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards using tools such as AWS Lake Formation and IAM.
  • Optimize and tune ETL pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Use CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and monitoring best practices to ensure system reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and building RESTful APIs.
  • Proficient in CI/CD tools: GitHub, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or similar.
  • Experience with observability tools like Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or Observe.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and their integration into backend or data processing systems.
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, and Scala for distributed data processing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, Kinesis, and EMR.
  • Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and cost management in cloud-based data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AWS Marketplace, API Gateway, and data monetization strategies.
