
Media And Digital Content Officer

The role
Reporting to the Media and Issues Team Leaders, you will be a multi-media storyteller who will promote the great work Queensland Health does. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of creating digital content for use across multiple channels, reaching our diverse audience. This includes planning, writing, shooting, editing, and posting content from activities including media conferences, reactive and proactive interviews, and Queensland Health events. In addition, you will have the opportunity to generate original content. You will also prepare, produce, and distribute media collateral, including media responses and releases.You will work in partnership with other areas of the Strategic Communications Branch to amplify messaging.
The successful person
- Experience in media relations/journalism and creating digital content from production to execution phase.
- Experience in using video and audio recording equipment that may include, but not limited to, gimbals, digital SLRs, studio lighting and professional audio, with a contemporary understanding of software tools to plan, shoot, edit and post content.
- The ability to work at pace, using communication, consultation and interpersonal skills to source stories and talent, and conduct interviews ensuring they translate to the communication objectives of the organisation.
- Media and issues management skills, including the ability to proactively identify emerging issues, and to monitor and respond appropriately when developing content for the digital space.
- Highly developed writing and editorial skills and demonstrated experience in identifying, planning, and preparing proactive media opportunities.
- The ability to work independently or as a team to make decisions, solve problems, manage competing work priorities, and meet deadlines in line with project briefs and organisational goals and requirements.
- Experience in administrative duties such as preparing media summaries and reports; and
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
