The Opportunity Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Part Time Human Resources Manager to join their team for a period of up to two (2) years.
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Governance you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver best practice advice to our staff to ensure compliance of Council's Human Resources function.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to): Provide advice to Council's Executive Leadership Team and employees regarding HR matters Ensure compliance with industrial laws, awards and related requirements Assume the lead role in Change Management Projects Administer the Council salary system Coordinate staff recruitment and selection Advise on the Council's Payroll System Manage workers compensation claims and co-ordination / rehabilitation of injured workers Monitor Anti-Discrimination and Employment Legislation and Council's HR Policies & procedures Coordinate staff training and development Manage Council's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Other duties and ad-hoc projects as required For more detail about the specific duties and responsibilities of the position, please CLICK HERE for the complete Position Description.
About you The successful candidate will meet the following criteria: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field Relevant work-related experience in a human resource environment Experience in providing high-level human resources advice to management and staff regarding disciplinary matters, performance management, change management ,and other matters in accordance with HR policies, procedures and legislation Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to lead and work in a team environment A strong self-motivation and demonstrated initiative in approaching the functions of the position Experience in coordinating staff training Good working knowledge of Microsoft Programs and HRIS Systems Thorough working knowledge of employment legislation Ability to ensure a high degree of confidentiality Commitment to Work Health and Safety and Risk Management procedures Demonstrated commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity In addition, an ideal candidate would have: Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management.
Experience/understanding of Payroll processes.
