Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) / Care Manager – Avalon House (Northern Beaches, Sydney)Step into a leadership role with real impact
Avalon House is an 80-bed residential aged care home located in Sydney's Northern Beaches.
Known for its supportive team culture and strong community focus, the home is currently undergoing major renovations — making this an exciting time to join the leadership team.
We are seeking a Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) to partner with the Director of Nursing in overseeing day-to-day clinical operations, staff leadership, and resident care.
We also welcome applications from candidates with equivalent senior aged care leadership backgrounds, such as Care Manager, Clinical Care Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), Clinical Coordinator, or Quality & Clinical Manager.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on being hands-on, values clear communication, and is motivated to make a difference for residents and families.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the DON to manage operations and lead the clinical team
Provide visible, approachable leadership across the residence
Oversee documentation, compliance, and communication standards
Mentor and guide RNs and PCWs to deliver high-quality care
Foster a safe, supportive, and community-focused environment
What We're Looking For
Current AHPRA registration as an RN
Leadership experience and motivation for continual leadership growth in residential aged care (DDON, Care Manager, Clinical Manager, Clinical Coordinator, or similar senior role)
Strong communication and documentation skills
Collaborative, proactive approach with full-time availability (Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm)
