Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) – Avalon House (Northern Beaches, Sydney)

Avalon House is an 80-bed residential aged care home located in Sydney's beautiful Northern Beaches. The team has a strong culture and low turnover, and the residence is known for its warm and community-focused environment.

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) to join the leadership team and support the Director of Nursing (DON) in day-to-day operations and clinical oversight. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on being hands-on, values clear communication, and is motivated to make a difference for residents and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the DON to manage operations and lead the clinical team.
  • Provide visible, approachable leadership for clinical activity across the residence.
  • Oversee documentation, compliance, and communication standards.
  • Deliver clinical guidance, mentoring, and education.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and high-quality care environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Current AHPRA registration as an RN.
  • Leadership experience in aged care (DDON, Care Manager, Clinical Manager, Clinical Care Coordinator, or similar).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach with full-time availability (Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm).
