**Short Summary**:
Lead sourcing efforts, ensuring value, contract outcomes, and risk management across the organisation's procurement process as a Category Manager.

**Your new role**:
As a Category Manager with PSCF, you will drive sourcing activities related to a designated category to ensure value for money is realised, contracts deliver required outcomes, and risks are appropriately managed across the organisation through the procurement process.

You will undertake a variety of activities including but not limited to:

- Providing expert advice and services in relation to best practice procurement to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Undertaking risk assessments, establishing mitigation strategies and controls, and monitoring risks to procurement projects
- Developing and providing support and guidance in the formulation of acquisition, tender, evaluation, risk management, negotiation, contracts, document, and strategies.
- Maintaining an understanding of the market and alternative suppliers to support benchmarking activities, contingency planning and the development of competitive strategies.
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives and strategies.

**About you**:
As the successful Category Manager, you will champion the values of integrity and credibility and approach the role with a collaborative and consultative mindset. You will provide strategic advice which considers organisational factors and stakeholder needs. You will possess the following:

- Significant experience in the procurement of goods and services, including tendering processes, within a major corporation or the public sector.
- Experience successfully negotiating with suppliers, service contractors and senior management to achieve desired outcomes within established guidelines.
- Knowledge of the structures and procurement practices of Government agencies as they relate to procurement practices.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, in particular the demonstrated ability to provide sound advice and prepare written reports and briefings.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills that foster trust and cooperation, and a proven ability to work effectively and with integrity within a politically sensitive environment.
