**Your role**
Are you looking for a senior actuarial role in a Melbourne-based insurer with purpose?
You will join a small team of talented and friendly actuaries and actuarial analysts doing the in-house actuarial work for the Victorian State Government's insurer. This involves the actuarial pricing, portfolio analytics, claims dashboarding and capital management work for a broad range of insurance classes, from property and professional indemnity to cyber and construction (and more). The broad range of insurance classes arise from the places which make Victoria great, including the State Library of Victoria, the Metro Tunnel, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, to name just a few.
You will be working at a Victorian Government agency with almost 250 staff, which insures over $200 billion of assets and insurance liabilities of over $3 billion.

This will include meaningful opportunities to closely engage with these stakeholders to undertake regular work, projects and present at committees and working groups. Due to the diversity and complexity of risks covered by VMIA, you will be using your actuarial skills to help the organisation to solve complex and contemporary insurance matters.
This role reports to the Head of Actuarial Services.

- You manage the delivery of regular annual work undertaken by the Actuaries Services team. This includes planning, execution, peer review, feedback to other team members and presentation of results to stakeholders.
- You manage the delivery of ad hoc requests and projects supported by the Actuarial Services team. This includes pricing new business, changes to existing policies, client deductible reviews and the design of new insurance solutions.
- You seek to continuously improve the way the Actuarial Services team delivers its work, including maintenance of actuarial models, analyses, and data processes with support from the team.
