Senior Actuary Role

We are seeking experienced professionals to take on leadership positions within a major national program.

About the Role

As a Senior Actuary, you will lead a specialist team with responsibility for planning, resource management, risk resolution, and the delivery of complex actuarial projects. You will provide authoritative advice to senior executives and stakeholders, influencing strategy, policy, and operational practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply actuarial and insurance-based techniques to project Scheme costs.
  • Develop and update actuarial valuation models and associated management reports.
  • Evaluate and analyse policy decisions and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Provide high-level statistical and actuarial advice to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Lead reporting, analysis, and data management activities.
  • Extract, cleanse, and validate data from multiple systems for modelling and reporting purposes.
  • Deliver actionable insights aligned with corporate priorities.
  • Lead and mentor team members, supporting performance and capability development.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Associate-level qualification with significant progress towards Fellowship.
  • 10–15+ years' actuarial experience, with 6–10 years post-qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience applying actuarial techniques in large-scale, complex environments.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Australian citizenship.
