Job Title:
Director of Information Governance
The role involves providing strategic advice, leadership, and direction in relation to the long-term preservation, management, and access to the Agency's information assets.
About The Role
This position will be responsible for ensuring knowledge of contemporary best practice and compliance with legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes, and agency guidelines and regulations.
The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals, role modeling our leadership behaviours while implementing and promoting a climate of innovation and continuous improvement in information management.
Developing, maintaining, implementing, and delivering systems for keeping, updating, accessing, and preserving information is essential for this role.
Your Skills and Qualifications
A high level of experience in developing, implementing, and continuously improving a records and information management governance framework within an Australian Public Service (APS) agency is required.
An extensive understanding of Australian information management legislation, standards, policies, and authorities is necessary.
Excellence in stakeholder engagement and management skills, with proven ability as a trusted advisor to senior management is expected.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, manage competing priorities, and adhere to strict deadlines to achieve results in a busy environment are required.
A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated professional experience in Records Management, Information Management, Knowledge Management, Archives Management, or a related discipline is mandatory.
