**Position Overview**

The **SIL House Team Leader** is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home, ensuring high-quality care and support for participants while managing a team of support workers. The role involves staff supervision, rostering, participant support, compliance with NDIS standards, and overall house management.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Staff Management & Leadership**
- Supervise, mentor, and support disability support workers within the SIL home.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions.
- Ensure staff adhere to policies, procedures, and NDIS practice standards.
- Address staff concerns, conflict resolution, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new support workers.

**2. Rostering & Scheduling**
- Develop and maintain efficient and cost-effective staff rosters, ensuring adequate coverage.
- Approve shift changes, manage leave requests, and address last-minute staffing issues.
- Monitor and manage overtime and ensure compliance with budget constraints.

**3. Participant Support & Wellbeing**
- Ensure participants receive person-centered support that aligns with their NDIS plans.
- Support participants with daily living, personal care, and community participation as needed.
- Be available for hands-on support when required, including filling shifts in emergencies.
- Work closely with participants, families, guardians, and allied health professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

**4. House Management**
- Ensure the home is maintained in a clean, safe, and welcoming condition.
- Coordinate household maintenance, repairs, and liaise with property management.
- Manage household budgets, petty cash, and procurement of household supplies.
- Oversee medication administration and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.

**5. Compliance & Reporting**
- Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and progress notes.
- Ensure all support provided aligns with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate risk management strategies.
- Participate in audits, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

**Skills & Qualifications**

**Essential**:

- Experience in disability support, preferably within SIL environments.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of NDIS and disability sector regulations.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekends and after-hours as required.
- First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Full Australian Driver's Licence.

**Desirable**:

- Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability, Community Services, or related field.
- Experience with rostering and workforce planning.
- Understanding of positive behaviour support and restrictive practices.
