You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to optimize their position in the market. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to analyse market trends, identify opportunities, and drive business growth. This role requires a deep understanding of the energy industry, excellent analytical skills, and strong business acumen.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive wholesale energy markets strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of market data, including supply-demand dynamics, price trends, and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies, manage supply contracts, and optimize trading activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including energy regulators, government agencies, and industry associations.
- Provide strategic guidance to senior management on market conditions, risks, and potential growth areas.
- Lead and mentor a team of energy market analysts, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Evaluate potential partnerships, joint ventures, and investment opportunities to expand market presence and enhance profitability.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry innovations, recommending appropriate strategies for adoption.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and recommendations to senior executives and the board of directors.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. A postgraduate degree or professional certification in energy management or a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) in the energy industry, preferably within the wholesale energy market or energy trading sector.
- Strong knowledge of wholesale energy market dynamics, including electricity and gas markets, regulatory frameworks, and pricing mechanisms.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful market strategies, driving revenue growth, and achieving business objectives.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies.
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to identify and evaluate new business opportunities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau) and experience with energy market modeling software is preferred.
- Knowledge of renewable energy markets and sustainability initiatives is a plus.
