**The Role**
ALS Geochemistry is looking for a mechanically-minded hands-on site Maintenance Coordinator, based at our sample preparation facility in Zillmere.

This position covers all aspects of maintenance, repair and organisation of work onsite at Zillmere, as well as new project work as required. Hours of work will be 6am - 2.15pm.

**The day to day**
Responsibilities in the very hands-on role include:

- Liaising directly with the site manager, external contractors, suppliers and purchasing team.
- Ad hoc machinery repairs and ensuring they are in good repair and fit for purpose.
- Supervision of a small maintenance team including scheduling work to meet demands
- Ensuring work is carried out to a high safety standard
- Ensure staff are adequately trained and signed off for all equipment they use
- Carry out prestart meetings, documented daily and handed to the manager for processing
- Purchasing and maintaining stock levels of machine/component consumable stock levels. Liaising with the site manager for monthly expenditure.
- Ensure the appearance of both sites including lawns paths are always mowed, maintained and free from rubbish.
- Ensure all bulk rubbish bags including extractor/vacuum are replaced and discarded.
- Organising scrap steel to be recycled as required.
- Parts usage and waste minimised.
- Ensuring our tanks-filtration system is maintained daily or as required.
- Ensuring team leave is spaced out to ensure every day is adequately covered.

**The essentials**
- A high commitment to Safety and ensuring your team's safety
- Relevant Trade certificate preferred
- Current drivers' license (A class) manual
- Current forklift licence
- Ability to weld
- Microsoft experience.
- Knowledge and skills in other trades, or a desire to learn
- The ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision
- Excellent work ethic
- A can-do attitude
- Drive and ability to develop and lead a team of maintenance staff
- Ability to communicate across all levels
- Proven ability to handle a diverse workload
