Our client based in Perth is looking for a Finance Officer for a temporary period. This is a great opportunity to work within a government department

**Your new role**

As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for:

- Preparing and processing vendor invoices/adjustment notes in relation to stock and non-stock purchase orders using the accounts payable system.
- Ensuring that the appropriate purchase orders are in the system prior to processing purchase order invoices and liaise with the purchasing section for exceptions.
- Ensuring that invoices are processed in accordance with tax legislation and organisation exemptions.
- Preparing and processing vendor invoices/adjustment notes in relation to direct/bulk purchases.
- Forwarding invoices for incurring to respective appointed incurring officers for authorisation and return.
- Investigating outstanding invoices that have not been processed and carrying out any necessary follow-up actions.
- Providing enquiry assistance in relation to vendor accounts and payment procedures.
- Coordinating vendor information to be provided for updating the accounting system.
- Other duties as required.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Experience in the similar position required but also:

- Experience processing invoices
- Experience dealing with supplier enquiries
- Experience with ad-hoc duties
