**Salary - **Clerk Grade 7/8 ($106,025 to $117,363 p.a. plus employers' contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)**
**About the Team**
The Office of the Women's Safety Commissioner provides oversight, leadership and advice to improve women's safety in NSW, including whole of government responses to domestic, family and sexual violence.
**What you'll do**
This role will support the Commissioner in raising community awareness of and engagement with issues associated with women's safety. Part of a small team, the position holder will play a strategic role in identifying creative opportunities to engage with stakeholders and the general public, including through events, social media and traditional media channels, to promote engagement with the priorities articulated in the Women's Safety Commissioner's Strategic Plan 2024 - 2027, as well as the NSW Domestic and Family Violence Plan and the NSW Sexual Violence Plan.
You will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Creating accurate and relevant communication materials for stakeholders using a variety of channels and platforms.
- Coordinating media and engagement efforts to support the Commissioner's policy and operational priorities.
- Overseeing awareness-raising and communication projects, including logistics, budgets, and resource planning, ensuring effective engagement with members of the community and key stakeholders.
- Conducting research to shape engagement and awareness-raising strategies and identify target audiences for programs.
- Preparing timely and relevant data, including updates, reports, budgets, and discussion papers for management and stakeholders.
- Provide advice on communication aspects of the Commissioner's campaigns and programs.
**What we're looking for**
The ideal applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Proven ability to assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of effective engagement, awareness raising, and communications activities in a fast-paced, dynamic team.
- Hands-on skill as a social media strategist and content creator and adept in use of Canva or Adobe programs
- Experience in social community management, including management of contentious issues.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in the operations of government, the political process, and the media
- Experience working in in a government agency
- Experience delivering events.
