About the Business

We are a small hydraulics company located in the Northern suburbs, who deal in the sales and services of hydraulic equipment across the greater Melbourne, specializing in the maintenance, installation and supply of new systems across many industries.

About the Role

We are seeking the services of a mechanical trades person or an apprentice to work in a close knit team environment. This person will preferably have some hydraulics trouble shooting experience. The role is full time, casual based initially and will progress to a permanent position for the right person.

The role would include:

- General workshop based repair work,
- Some machining work
- Some fabrication and,
- Site service work.
- Customer contact.
- Hose manufacture and installation.

About You
- You are genuinely interested in, or learning about hydraulic controls.
- You have some experience reading circuit drawings and identifying components
- Trade qualified, apprentice or mechanical engineering qualifications
- You would need to enjoy solving problems and be a self starter.
- Potentially suited to a hydraulic hose technician who wants to broaden his knowledge and skill set.

Essential Prerequisites:

- Good work ethics and attitude.
- A desire or passion to help clients and work with hydraulics.
- Knowledge of hydraulic hose, fittings and threads an advantage.
- Must be able to work with a small team.
- Good written and oral English communication skills. (English will probably be your first language)
- Hold a full current Victorian driver's license. Apprentice "P" plate acceptable
- Australian citizen or legally able to work full time in Australia.

Additional Skills and Opportunities:
If you have some of these skills or wish to learn or develop other skills, there will be scope to offer further training.
- Able to weld and fabricate small structures.
- Have basic computer literacy.
- Good mechanical aptitude and able to disassemble and re-assemble machinery.
- Engineering trade skills.
- Fork lift license
- D Permit
- MR truck license

Note, we currently have one of our past Apprentices acting as the assistant manager, you will will learn quick in this enviroment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual, Permanent

**Salary**: $36.00 - $46.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
