Hydraulic Technician Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Hydraulic Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of hydraulic equipment in a workshop and onsite setting.

  • We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual with a strong background in mechanical trades.
  • The ideal candidate will have trade qualifications, preferably as a Fitter, Turner & Machinist or Plant Mechanic, with experience working on hydraulic systems.

About the Role:

The Hydraulic Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks including workshop modification, reworking, and testing of new hydraulic components, as well as manufacturing and testing hydraulic power units.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Workshop modification, reworking, and testing of new hydraulic components
  2. Manufacture and test hydraulic power units
  3. Report on equipment following disassembly and inspection
  4. Ability to work independently and lead other staff members
  5. Onsite hydraulic support for local customers

Requirements:

  • Trade qualifications (Mechanical) as a Fitter, Turner & Machinist or Plant Mechanic w/ hydraulic experience
  • Fitting experience with fixed and mobile plant applications
  • Understanding the importance of accuracy and quality
  • Fault finding and experience with fixed plant and mining equipment desirable
  • Low voltage electrical experience will be an advantage
