**Human Resources (HR) Manager**
Our client's are a growing transport company seeking an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to establish and strengthen their internal HR function and grow with them
**About the Role**:
Reporting initially to the GM Ops, the role of the HR Manager will be to establish and strengthen their internal HR function. The business has grown rapidly since commencing operations in 2018 and now employs over 100 people; initially the company's HR services were outsourced. Your role will focus on progressively bringing core HR processes in-house while working collaboratively with their external partners where needed. You will be instrumental in maintaining accurate employee records, overseeing payroll administration, interpreting relevant awards, and contributing to the development of a positive and productive work environment to cement and support their growth.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Payroll Administration Oversight**:
- Overseeing end-to-end payroll so it is accurate and on time, including calculations, leave management, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and the applicable industrial award(s).Hands-On leader so the payroll admin can be completed regardless of annual leave etc
- **Employee Relations and Support**:
- Provide initial point of contact, support and advice to employees and managers on HR matters including performance, conduct, grievances and escalating complex issues as required.
- Assisting with all stages of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding (e.g. conduct initial interviews, preparing offer letters, coordinating inductions, contract preparation), performance management administration, learning and development coordination, and offboarding processes.
- Assisting with the creation, review, and maintenance of accurate and comprehensive job descriptions for all roles within the organisation.
- Updating job descriptions and organisational charts
- **Compliance and Risk Management**:
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of relevant industrial awards and ensuring company policies and practices align with these requirements.
- Providing guidance to managers and employees on award interpretation.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Assisting with the preparation of HR-related reports and data analysis as required by the Executive Team and other stakeholders.
- Supporting the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- **Culture and Engagement**:
- Assist in building and promoting a strong, values-driven culture.
- Design and implement initiatives that actively create the development of skill matrices & assessments linked to Position Descriptions that enhance engagement, communication, and recognition throughout the business relating to internal and external (formal and informal) training of team members relating to annual pay rise discussions, promotions, and succession planning
**Skills and Experience**:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a closely related discipline.
- 3 -5 years proven experience in a HR management role, ideally within a fast-paced environment (experience in the transport and logistics industry is highly desirable).
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Australian payroll processes, relevant legislation (e.g., Fair Work Act), and industrial awards.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
